“Working With Your CVB” – 12:00 pm
Four Points by Sheraton, 600 Kanawha Blvd., E., Charleston, WV 25301
Tourism is big business in Kanawha County, generating $565 million in expenditures, supporting 5,000 jobs and generating nearly $50 million in taxes.
The City of Charleston is well poised to maximize tourism expenditures since between 2013 and by the end of this year, the city and private sector will have invested more than $200 million in tourism infrastructure improvements—not the least of which is the $100 million expansion and renovation of the Charleston Convention Center and Coliseum.
The Charleston CVB, which receives 3% of the city’s lodging tax and operates with annual budget of approximately $1.5 million. The mission of the CVB is simple: More people, staying longer and spending more money. Their overwhelming focus is recruiting meetings, conventions and sporting events to the area.
Join us when Todd Morris of the Charleston CVB staff will share strategies for working with you to make your meetings successful in Hip, Historic…Almost Heaven!
