Todd Morris, with the Charleston CVB, shared information at the February WVSAE meeting about how much conventions can contribute to the Charleston economy.  He said bringing 1,000 guests who use 2,400 room nights over a week can bring as much as $1 million to Charleston’s economy.  “When I worked in economic development, it could take me years to bring that much to a community,” Morris said.

Morris said his office can make tailored presentations to prospective meeting planners to outline not only sleeping and meeting room space, but activities for attendees throughout the event.  He invited WVSAE members to call his office if they need assistance bringing a regional or national conference to the Charleston area.

He even won the overnight stay door prize donated by Roseshalla Holmes of Four Points by Sheraton!
